What is your personal definition of continuous quality improvement? How would you relate this definition to operations in a health care organization? How do we try to build new methods of practicing based on profound knowledge, most of which already is tacit in the organization, as well as the new knowledge that the CQI process generates?

Answer:

Continuous quality improvement is the act of always improving on what you’re doing, as well as your processes. It’s about being able to identify what you’re doing wrong, and pinpointing ways that you can improve your business and make it run more smoothly.

This happens in health care organizations because there are always new ideas and methods of practice that are developed, and CQI helps you to assess these new ideas and decide if they should be implemented at the organization.

My personal definition of continuous quality improvement is the ongoing process of identifying opportunities to improve a business’s operations and then making those improvements.

I think that this definition can be applied to operations in a health care organization by looking at how it might be used to improve patient care. For example, an organization could use CQI to identify opportunities for improving patient outcomes and make changes based on those opportunities.
